Michele Thomas is a Los Angeles-based portrait photographer who has spent more than ten years as a digital technician collaborating with some of the world's best photographers and lighting directors, including Art Streiber, Frank Ockenfels, Tim Tadder, Matthew Donaldson, and Dan Monick. Partnering with top creatives and art directors, she contributed to the success of major advertising photo productions for brands such as Virgin Mobile, Cadillac, Toyota, Audi, Target, Microsoft, Nike, Pepsi, and Apple. Now she is a portrait photographer actualizing her own vision in the art of photography.
Growing up in California and spending summers with family in Montana gave Michele an appreciation of people and the lives they lead in both urban and rural areas. With a camera constantly in hand during those childhood road trips, her passion for seeing the world through a frame has come to define her art. Even now, it's hard to find a family photo that includes Michele because she's always preferred being behind the lens.
Pursuing her lifelong dream of professional photography, Michele moved to Los Angeles to learn from the masters. She started her career assisting A-list celebrity photographers Art Streiber and Frank Ockenfels, working on magazine cover stories, movie posters for countless publications and studios, and ultimately ad campaigns for world-renowned brands.
After over 600 photo shoots that included traveling all across North America and visiting locations from Europe to South America, from Australia to Africa and Asia, Michele now is the artist behind the camera and enjoys serving the commercial creative world by capturing the ongoing narratives of human faces, and working with the nuances of studio and environmental lighting to capture the essence of who they (and we) really are.
